Startup = growth, but when?
Usually, startups form growth teams and start implementing growth engines too soon.
The product life cycle has three stages, and each stage requires corresponding growth perspective.
Before Product launch - Here growth is all about talking users/customers, identifying and prioritizing biggest customer pains and solving problems. Also, startups should implement beta programs or waitlists.
Finding Product Market and Channel Fit (PMF) - This is the most underestimated step. It is super important to find a niche where hundreds of users/companies love and pay for your product. and not just like. And you need to have a real channel to distribute your product. $1M ARR is a good milestone for most SAAS companies.
Growth stage - You have 1000s of new users/customers each month, now it's time to improve retention and monetization. Now and only now can you prove or reject your growth hypothesis using data-driven approaches
Do not fall into the trap of wrong prioritization and create the minimum loveable product first.
Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, recently faced scrutiny when its latest model, Grok 3, temporarily censored unflattering mentions of Musk and former President Donald Trump. Users reported that Grok 3 avoided associating Musk and Trump with misinformation, a behavior attributed to an unauthorized update by a new xAI employee. The company quickly reversed the change, emphasizing its commitment to unbiased AI outputs.
Why it matters: This incident highlights the challenges in developing AI systems that maintain political neutrality and resist undue influence. Ensuring that AI models provide unbiased information is crucial for user trust and the ethical deployment of AI technologies.
Apple is set to revolutionize spatial computing with the introduction of Apple Intelligence on the Vision Pro in April. With the upcoming visionOS 2.4, Vision Pro users will gain access to groundbreaking new features that elevate both creativity and productivity.
The first set of features includes Writing Tools, Image Playground, and Genmoji, designed to make tasks like proofreading, rewriting, and summarizing text simpler, while also allowing users to express themselves visually in new ways.
In addition, Spatial Gallery, a new app for the Vision Pro, offers users a curated collection of spatial photos and videos, providing a fresh way to experience and share multimedia. The Apple Vision Pro app for iPhone will further enhance the experience, offering easy access to Vision Pro content and apps.
These innovations are set to transform the way users interact with both their devices and the world around them, all while ensuring privacy remains a priority. The Apple Intelligence features will initially be available in U.S. English, with further updates and language support rolling out throughout the year.
Researchers have developed an AI-powered diagnostic tool capable of detecting multiple diseases—such as diabetes, HIV, COVID-19, and lupus—from a single blood sample. By analyzing gene sequences in immune cells, the tool offers a comprehensive view of a person's health based on their immune system's unique record of past and present illnesses.
Why it matters:
This “one-shot” diagnostic approach could transform healthcare by simplifying the detection of conditions with overlapping symptoms. Unlike traditional tests that focus on individual diseases, this AI tool reads both B and T cell gene sequences, providing a fuller picture of immune activity. Although not yet ready for clinical use, it holds the potential to speed up diagnoses and personalize treatment plans, especially for diseases lacking definitive tests today.
